Your data on Boombiz
Last updated: 5 June 2026
Boombiz is operated by Digital Orca Limited. We treat your business data and your shoppers’ data as something you own and we hold on your behalf. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, how it is protected, and how you can delete it whenever you want.
What data we hold
- Your account — name, email, phone number, password hash, and (if you sign in with Google) your Google profile name, email and avatar.
- Your business — business name, logo, address, bank details for payouts, staff list and roles.
- Your catalogue and operations — products, inventory, orders, invoices, expenses, debts and reports you create on Boombiz.
- Your customers — names, phone numbers, addresses and order history that you or your shoppers enter through your storefront or WhatsApp bot.
- Usage and device data — IP address, browser type, and activity logs used for security, billing and abuse prevention.
How we manage and protect it
- Encrypted by default. All Boombiz data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.
- Scoped access. Your business data is only visible to you and the staff you invite, scoped to the role you give them (Owner, Manager, Sales, etc.).
- Payments stay with the processor. Card and bank payments are handled by Paystack and Flutterwave. Boombiz never sees or stores full card numbers or bank credentials.
- We do not sell your data. We never sell, rent or share your business or customer data with advertisers, brokers or AI training datasets.
Who owns the customer data you collect
When a shopper places an order through your storefront or chats with your WhatsApp AI assistant, the contact details and order data belong to you. You are the data controller for your customers under NDPR (Nigeria Data Protection Regulation) and similar laws in your market. Boombiz is the processor — we hold and process that data on your behalf so the platform can work.
That means it is your responsibility to handle your shoppers’ information lawfully (e.g. only contacting them for reasons they would expect, honouring opt-outs, and responding to any deletion request they send you). We give you tools inside the dashboard to view, export and delete that data at any time.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your Boombiz account and the data tied to it at any time. There are two ways:
Option 1 — Delete from your dashboard (fastest)
- Sign in and go to Dashboard → Settings.
- Scroll to the Danger zone at the bottom of the page.
- Choose Permanently delete account, enter your password to confirm, and submit.
If you are the Owner of a business, deleting your account also permanently deletes the entire business and everything inside it — products, orders, customers, invoices, expenses, staff accounts, WhatsApp bot configuration, and uploaded files. This action is immediate and cannot be undone, so export anything you want to keep first.
If you only want to pause sign-in without losing your data, use Disable account on the same page instead.
Option 2 — Email us
If you cannot sign in, or you want us to delete your data on your behalf, email [email protected] from the address on your Boombiz account with the subject “Delete my account”. We verify the request, then action it within 30 days.
What gets deleted, and what we keep
When you delete your account we remove your profile, business records, catalogue, orders, customer records, WhatsApp bot configuration, uploaded files and Google profile data from our live systems. Encrypted backups age out on a rolling 30-day schedule.
We may retain a minimal record of completed transactions, invoices and KYC checks where Nigerian tax, anti-money-laundering or payments law requires it. Those records are isolated from the live product and used only to satisfy the specific legal obligation.
Exporting your data first
Before you delete, you can export your products, orders, customers, expenses and reports as CSV from the relevant pages in your dashboard. If you need a full bundle of everything we hold about you, email [email protected] and we will send it within 30 days.
